The nature of work has evolved toward greater use of virtual teams. Members of virtual teams face a number of unique challenges that their collocated co-workers do not. This paper identifies five key dynamics of the virtual team situation. It then explores some of the ways in which these dynamics impact and are impacted by knowledge management (KM) processes, and proposes solutions and directions for future work.
