In this paper, we examine the art of hosting conversation to find emergent and sustainable solutions to the complex challenges that we face in organizations and communities. Its integrated design principles reveal a deeper living network pattern through which we co-evolve our collective future. This innovative methodology for hosting conversations about questions that matter, links and builds conversations on each other as people move between groups, cross-pollinate ideas, and discover new insights into the questions or issues that are most important in their lives. The art of hosting conversation can evoke the collective intelligence of any group, increasing our capacity for effective action in pursuit of common aims. Using discoveries made by cognitive scientists about the social nature of learning as our foundation, we analyze how this process is designed to foster authentic dialogue and generate conversation about questions that matter in our organizations and our communities.
