Building Community at Work: Spirit, Ethics, and Culture
The concept of building community in the workplace in gaining
energy. This paper introduces an organizational learning model currently in
practice within an organizational framework. The model offers a process to
enhance the way people participate within organizations, both personally and
interpersonally. The key elements of this model are designed to strengthen

G.L. Reed, DMin, is an educator, consultant, and mentor with twenty-five years of experience working in the fields of community building, spirituality, and organizational learning. Her personal mission is to help people create stronger community through the integration of spirit, culture, and ethics. She holds a Doctor of Ministry in Spirituality, Sustainability, and Inter-Religious Dialogue, a Master of Divinity (e), a Master of Science in Communication Disorders, and a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences, and mentors individuals from a variety of organizations (schools, businesses, churches, allied-health care) to help them bring a little extra spirit into life. In addition, Dr. Reed is an approved provider by the American Planning Association for training in the Ethics portion of credit for AICP certification and is a Texas Education Agency approved Continuing Education provider for School Board members.
