An approach to adaptive knowledge management in a project-based organization is suggested. The goal of the approach is to ensure facilitation of knowledge transfer among project workers during project work. It promotes an effective completion of a project. The approach provides: dynamic management by the special temporal sequence of project task groups and collaborative groups of the project workers; flexible management by assigning project workers to perform tasks by means of dynamic coordination of knowledge of the project workers with tasks-relevant knowledge; adaptation to dynamically changing tasks-relevant knowledge, knowledge of the project workers, temporal and structural project tasks parameters. The approach is described in detail by example. The approach is evaluated and its effectiveness is demonstrated. The approach may serve as a constructive basis for development of an adaptive knowledge management system of a project-based organization.
