Studies have been conducted to investigate the impacts of implementing excellence models such as EFQM on the performance, but they are based on the perceived data. The purpose of this research is studying these effects based on the actual and reliable data. A literature review reveals factors in relation to performance. These factors were explored before and after the implementation of the EFQM model in a manufacturing company in IRAN. Evidence was found to view that despite some improvements in some factors, performance of the firm as a whole has not enhanced due to implementing EFQM model. This research only covers one case and therefore is not generalizable back to theory rather than to the population of business units. This paper makes a contribution to the understanding of implementing EFQM model and its effect on the business performance in IRAN. Industrial managers may find its recommendations useful if planning a similar implementation.
