Change is constant in today’s complicated and complex global business environment. In response to and in anticipation of changes, organizations employ multiple strategies to manage these. This paper is a case study exploration of the aspects of a real organizational change intervention in the context of “resistance to change” phenomenon, and how leadership and management can affect this phenomenon by building open and honest lines of communication within complex organizations today. Dramatic decreases in funding and fund raising contributions due to the volatility of the economy has created a necessity to consider reorganizing the organization’s structure and consider the need to make changes in strategies and planning approaches. This paper explores the urgent need for paradigm changes on various levels if organizations are going to grow, survive, and even prosper in this volatile and constantly changing external environment.
