This article proposes a model of “Strategic Self-Re-engineering (SSR) for dealing with self-transformation process to enhance employees’ competence in coping with workplace stress and burnout in a changing global world. Seven strategic coping tools are proposed at the individual level including strategic value analysis and goal setting, strategic relaxation, mindfulness, physical activity, nutrition strategy, sleep strategy, and balancing work and leisure time. Seven leadership strategies are recommended at the organizational level, including developing corporate vision and direction for excellence, effective communications and teamwork strategies, dynamic information technology management, developing empowering organizational culture, positive social support strategy, empowering strategic change management, and managing power, politics and ethics.
