Gerassimos Kouzelis is Associate Professor of Philosophy of Science and Sociology of Knowledge at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, University of Athens. Born in Athens, Gerassimos Kouzelis completed studies in Sociology and Philosophy at the Philipps University of Marburg (1972-1978), and postgraduate (Ph.D.) studies in Sociology and Philosophy at the Social Sciences Department of the Goethe University of Frankfurt (1979-1985), gaining a Ph.D. degree in 1986. His research areas are the epistemology and methodology of the social sciences, ideology, propaedeutics and argumentation, university teaching and curricula planning, adult education, social politics, immigration and representations of the “other”, poverty, social acceptance of technology and information technologies, minorities.
