With extensive experience in corporate marketing and management, Dr. Shari Peterson joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota where she teaches courses in Adult Education and Human Resource Development. Her research is on the topic of retention in work and learning contexts: (a) employee retention and the role of HRD in creating work climates that contribute to reducing employee turnover; (b) student retention and institutional cultures that foster persistence; and (c) faculty persistence and the role of educational climates in contributing to faculty job satisfaction and the nature of the work of the professoriate.
