School Culture and Its Effect on School Development

The aim of this research was to understand the effect of school culture on the school development from the viewpoint of teachers of Iran, Shiraz District One. Two standard questionnaires for organizational culture and school development were used. The validity of the instruments was confirmed by factor analysis. The reliability of the questionnaires was calculated by Cronbach’s Alpha, which were both at significant level. The results from organizational culture and school development questionnaire show that the Cronbach’s Alpha of organizational culture and school development was 0.90 and 0.97 respectively. Research participants were selected by random sampling. By using pearson’s correlation method results show that; 1. Among the different kinds of school culture, consensual culture is the most effective factor in the school development; 2. There is a significant relationship between school culture and school development. According to the findings it is suggested that teachers of schools reword culture when confronting school problems, especially with school development.
